Homogenization for contact problems with periodically rough surfaces
We consider the contact of two elastic bodies with rough surfaces at the interface. The size of the micro-peaks and -valleys is very small compared with the macrosize of the bodies’ domains. This makes the direct application of the FEM for the calculation of the contact problem prohibitively costly. A method is developed that allows deriving a macrocontact condition on the interface. The method...
متن کاملglobal results on some nonlinear partial differential equations for direct and inverse problems
Homogenization in Fractional Elasticity
In this note we treat the equations of fractional elasticity. After establishing well-posedness, we show a compactness result related to the theory of homog-enization. For this, a previous result in (abstract) homogenization theory of evolutionary equations has to be improved. The approach also permits the consideration of non-local operators (in time and space).
متن کاملResidual a Posteriori Error Estimators for Contact Problems in Elasticity
This paper is concerned with the unilateral contact problem in linear elasticity. We define two a posteriori error estimators of residual type to evaluate the accuracy of the mixed finite element approximation of the contact problem. Upper and lower bounds of the discretization error are proved for both estimators and several computations are performed to illustrate the theoretical results. Mat...
متن کاملHomogenization Results for Parabolic Problems with Dynamical Boundary Conditions
Abstract. The aim of this paper is to study the asymptotic behavior of the solution of a parabolic dynamical boundary -value problem in a periodically perforated domain. The domain is considered to be a fixed bounded open subset Ω⊂R , in which identical and pe riodically distributed perforations (holes) of size ε are made. In the perforated domain we consider a heat equation, with a Dirichlet c...
